The story of this school

This well-equipped school dates back to 1978 and currently has more than 1600 students. The purpose of establishing this school was for the welfare of immigrant families who worked in Al Ain. With establishing this school, these families no longer have to worry about enrolling their children in English language schools.

In the beginning, this school was always lagging behind Al Ain British Academy which was its rival. In the inspection of 2015-16, the rating received by this school was Weak. But in the following years, this school continued to improve to the point where it was able to achieve Acceptable and Good grades in 2018-2017 and 2019-20, respectively. In the inspection that took place after the Covid 19 pandemic, this school was able to get a Very Good rating. This rank was the same as that of its rival Al Ain British Academy.

In 2022, AAESS asked a team of inspectors appointed by the British Government’s Department of Education to evaluate the school to show how well it adheres to high educational standards. Finally, based on the results, it was shown that it provides a good quality of education.

Emirati students make up about a quarter of the population of this school. More than 90 teachers work in this school, and more than 30 teaching assistants support students and help them solve academic problems.

This school is managed by Mr. Andrew Thomas, who is from the UK originally. He has a very extensive experience in the field of education and with this strong resume, he has been able to keep the ranking of this school high.

Al Ain English Speaking School curriculum

The students of this school are from Foundation Years to Year 13. The curriculum for young students who are at the foundation level uses the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). But this school uses the I/GCSEs program for students in year 11 and A Level program for students in year 12.

At the I/GCSE level, there are a series of compulsory subjects, which include:
